What to do if you can’t pay your taxes

1 - Have someone speak with the tax agency on your behalf to get all the information and answer any questions.
2 - Learn all the options, which ones apply to you, and why some approaches may not fit.
3 - Avoid making statements to the tax agency or raising questions that can make matters worse.
4 - Consider the impact on all other non-tax matters: credit score, employment, tension with spouse, stress, etc. in deciding when to move toward a resolution.
5 - Consider whether the tax problem is related to another problem and, if so, how to best address the whole financial situation.
6 - Consider the steps necessary to ensure that once the issue is resolved, it won't happen again.

We offer a free discussion and a low-cost case analysis. We find that a coaching-type discussion works best to clearly identify the issues.

If you choose to have us represent you in a settlement, then the cost of the analysis is applied to the cost of the representation.
